WHAT TO WATCH IN CANNES
Impressive Premieres
Sanlorenzo SP 110
Sanlorenzo introduces the brand new SP line (Smart Performance) on schedule, featuring a slender single deck yacht to compete with the growing sport yacht category at much larger scale.
WallyPower58
Wally, a Ferretti Group product since 2019, reconstructs its 58’ day cruiser with a fixed hardtop and a neat swim platform that converts into a day bed at the water’s edge.
Arcadia Sherpa 80 XL
The fourth Sherpa 80 XL unit features a main deck open galley, the first of its kind for the Naples-based builder and on display in the Vieux Port for customers to tour.
X-treme Yachts X105
One of the most impressive launches flying under the radar might be the X-treme Yachts X105, an impressive feat of engineering to include a myriad of system redundancies, wet tender load system, pool and main deck master cabin. All these features come with a hefty price tag on a 105’ vessel, but the achievement doesn’t go unnoticed.
Major Currencies in Parity
For the first time in the history of the USD/EUR relationship, both currencies will share a value at a boat show, a breath of fresh air for United States buyers at the tail end of the industry’s tough inflationary period. Those flying in from the west may feel (for the first time ever) their currency has some leverage with the world’s best shipyards.
We sit down with Arcadia CCO Francesco Frediani to talk currency parity and much more on Thursday, September 8th. Visit our YouTube channel on Tuesday, September 13th to watch the interview.
Energy Efficiency Led by Hybrid Progress
Look no further than Benetti’s B.Yond propulsion system to see the progress being made; a long-range hybrid combo unit developed by Siemens Energy with combustion engines and electric engines, able to be propelled by a combination of engine power, generator power, and battery energy. Among the category leaders in the field are the Pocket Explorers, each sporting long-range capabilities and engineering tailored to spacial and energy efficiency.
Read more on the Pocket Explorer glow up in our recent post.
