I've worked in day boating for almost 10 years, and if there's one thing I know for certain, it's that every builder thinks they've got “The Ultimate Day Boat”. So I figured it's about time we actually put that to the test.
I picked my favorite 8 day boats in each of 3 size classes — Compact (30-44 ft), Crossover (45-59 ft), and Flagship (60-80 ft) — 24 boats total. Starting Monday, August 31, they go head-to-head in a single-elimination bracket, and you decide who advances. Every matchup runs for 24 hours. It all ends September 27, when the last 3 class champions face off and the one that gets the most votes is crowned The Ultimate Day Boat.
Before you freak out about the chosen boats, these are my favorite 24 day boats. If you have better options, complain in the comments.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE: Every matchup goes up on @reedsellsyachts on its scheduled date at 8PM EST with an Instagram poll attached. The video gives a brief breakdown between the boats, offers a side by side comparison, some video commentary from yours truly, and allows you to vote in a poll. That poll is the only thing that decides the result. Comment all you want, argue your case, have some fun with it, but only the poll counts. The winner will be glorified 24 hours later, and move on in the tournament.
