Why Reed?

I entered the industry without prior affiliation or contacts yet with a huge appetite to learn and deliver. I worked my way up, starting in events and marketing, and eventually landing the Director of Ops & Domestic Sales role at VanDutch. Through my journey, I learned every corner of the industry: sales, charter, events, service, refit, you name it. I’ve worn every “hat” in the industry, and that yields you a very well-rounded representative. Why is this important? A great broker is resourceful. They can analyze a problem and design a solution in a tight timeframe. That’s me. And that’s what I pass to you.

Specialties

As new concepts become categories, the market never stops evolving. I’ve consulted on all shapes and sizes, yet my “bread and butter” remains the Day Boat. Don’t let the ‘day boat’ designation fool you. Just in the last five years, the “day boat” has expanded from a few 30-40 footers to an entire style including options over 100+.

Specialized brands include: VanDutch, Vanquish, Wajer, Pardo, Maori, Riva, Princess, Pershing, Sanlorenzo and Bluegame. While those are favorites, don’t let it restrict your search. Let’s get looking!

Your Boating Plan

I believe my real job starts at closing day. Navigating your purchase well means nothing without following up with the planning and execution of a great boating experience. I call this your ‘Boating Plan’. Its not a flashy name, but its the most important thing about our time together.

Your ‘Boating Plan’ is made up of questions sometimes overlooked:

  1. Where will you dock your boat?

  2. Who will insure your boat?

  3. Who will operate your boat?

  4. How is your boat maintained?

  5. What are the monthly/annual financial responsibilities?

  6. How is your boat setup to accommodate your boating style?

Inform —> Offer

I believe a Buyer should get 3 things from their Broker prior to offering:

  1. A clear awareness of similar market inventory

  2. Explanation of the closing process, where contractual liability exists and how to mitigate risk

  3. Annual pro forma customized to their ‘Boating Plan’
