The Insider Scoop

  • Systems simple enough to drive yourself, with a top deck made to keep the owner/operator involved in the social experience. Couple that with an undeniable profile line, sizable cabin and good maneuverability, and you’ve got an owner/operator’s dream. The build process and options list is understood by almost everyone, to further improve the brand’s approachability.

  • While simple and sleek describe a very successful style, VanDutch has not seen innovation at the rate of some of its competitors in the segment. Although it was intentional to retain an easy-to-use mantra, it may have prohibited the brand’s expansion and customer retention. Some creature comforts are left out and some functional pieces – like the top deck bars of new models – leave something to be desired.

  • I’ve heard rumors of a cabin redesign, where the factory may use Pardo woods and finishes in the VanDutch cabin. There would be no greater mistake than to fuse the two brands into one.

  • It’s the member of the list who best delivers on style, space, and ride quality throughout its model lineup, at a (relatively) reasonable price. If you are drawing a Venn diagram comparing these four attributes, VanDutch is your winner. Its history is thick with trials, tribulations, and a persistence that just won’t quit; if that resembles you, VanDutch may be your spirit animal.
